Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how you may use Email Verifier by EcomTech's email verification services, website, and API. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account. This AUP is part of and supplements our Terms of Service.
1. Permitted Uses
Our email verification services are designed for the following legitimate purposes:
- Email list cleaning: Verifying existing email lists to remove invalid, inactive, and undeliverable addresses before sending marketing campaigns or transactional emails
- Real-time signup validation: Integrating our API into registration forms, checkout pages, and lead capture forms to validate email addresses at the point of collection
- CRM and database hygiene: Periodically verifying email addresses stored in your CRM, marketing automation platform, or customer database to maintain data accuracy
- Compliance support: Using verification results to support compliance with email marketing regulations such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, and other applicable laws
- Deliverability improvement: Identifying and removing high-risk addresses (bounces, spam traps, disposable emails) to improve your email deliverability rates and sender reputation
- Domain and authentication checks: Verifying domain configurations, MX records, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for domains you own or are authorized to manage
- Application integration: Building applications and workflows that use our API for email validation as part of a broader service, in compliance with our API terms
2. Prohibited Uses

- Verifying addresses for the purpose of sending phishing emails, scam messages, or deceptive communications
2.2 Malicious and Illegal Activities
- Using our service to facilitate any illegal activity, including fraud, identity theft, harassment, or stalking
- Attempting to identify, locate, or track individuals using email verification results

- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to access our website or API in a manner that exceeds normal usage patterns or is designed to circumvent our systems
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the source code of our verification engine or algorithms

- Using our service to profile or make automated decisions about individuals based solely on their email verification status
3. API-Specific Rules
In addition to the general rules above, API users must adhere to the following:
- Respect rate limits as documented in our API documentation. Default limits are 10 requests per second for standard plans and higher for enterprise plans
- Implement appropriate error handling and retry logic with exponential backoff — do not hammer our endpoints on failure
- Cache verification results locally when appropriate to minimize redundant API calls for the same address
- Keep API keys secure and rotate them if you suspect unauthorized access
- Include proper User-Agent headers in API requests for identification purposes
- Do not use our API to perform competitive benchmarking or accuracy testing of our service without prior written consent
4. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any use of our services that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to us immediately at abuse@ev.ecomtechbd.com. We investigate all reports promptly and take appropriate action. You may report violations anonymously.

- Temporary suspension: For moderate or repeated violations, we may temporarily suspend your account while we investigate
- Permanent termination: For severe violations, violations involving illegal activity, or failure to comply with a warning, we may permanently terminate your account without refund
- Legal action: For violations that cause material harm to our service, reputation, or other users, we reserve the right to pursue legal remedies
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of enforcement actions and provide an opportunity to respond, except where immediate action is necessary to protect our service or users.
6. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account, including activity by employees, contractors, or any other party who accesses our service using your credentials or API keys. You agree to promptly notify us if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
