What the WooCommerce Integration Does
The Email Verifier by EcomTech WooCommerce integration adds real-time email verification to your WooCommerce store, protecting the most critical touchpoint in your customer relationship: the moment of purchase. Built as an extension of our WordPress plugin, the WooCommerce integration provides ecommerce-specific features that go beyond basic form validation. When a customer enters their email at checkout, the integration verifies it through our email verifier API in under one second, catching invalid, disposable, and mistyped addresses before the order is placed. This ensures that every order confirmation, shipping notification, and delivery update reaches the customer inbox.
WooCommerce stores depend on email at every stage of the customer lifecycle. Order confirmations build trust after purchase. Shipping notifications set delivery expectations. Review request emails drive social proof. Marketing campaigns drive repeat purchases. Password reset emails enable account access. When any of these emails bounce because a customer entered an invalid address, the customer experience breaks down. Support tickets increase as customers wonder where their order confirmation went. Marketing campaigns underperform because they reach fewer customers. Revenue from repeat purchases declines because customers never receive promotional offers. Our WooCommerce integration prevents these problems by ensuring only valid, deliverable email addresses are accepted at checkout. The integration is designed for minimal checkout friction with verification completing in under a second, smart error messages that help customers fix typos, and configurable strictness levels that let you balance fraud prevention with conversion rate optimization. For stores processing hundreds or thousands of orders daily, the integration also includes bulk customer database verification, email health dashboards, and WooCommerce Subscriptions support.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Install the WooCommerce Extension
If you already have our WordPress plugin installed, the WooCommerce features activate automatically when WooCommerce is detected. If not, install the EV Email Verifier plugin from the WordPress plugin directory and activate it. Navigate to WooCommerce, then Settings, then EV Email Verifier to access the ecommerce-specific configuration options.
Configure Your API Key and Connection
Enter your Email Verifier by EcomTech API key in the plugin settings. If you already configured the API key in the WordPress plugin settings, it is shared automatically. Click Test Connection to verify everything is working. The integration tests both the API connection and the WooCommerce hook integration to ensure verification will trigger correctly during checkout.
Enable Checkout Verification
Toggle on checkout email verification. Choose your verification mode: Standard blocks invalid and disposable emails, Strict also blocks risky and catch-all addresses, and Custom lets you select exactly which email categories to block. Configure the error message displayed to customers when their email fails verification. A good default is: We could not verify this email address. Please check for typos and try again.
Set Up Registration Verification
Enable email verification for customer account registration separately from checkout. This catches fake account signups that may not involve an immediate purchase. Configure whether guest checkout emails should also be verified. You can apply different verification strictness levels to each scenario based on your store specific fraud patterns.
Verify Your Existing Customer Database
Go to the Bulk Verify tab in the WooCommerce EV settings. Click Start Bulk Verification to scan all existing customer emails. The process runs in the background and adds verification metadata to each customer record. Once complete, you can view a dashboard showing the breakdown of valid, invalid, and risky customer emails. Use WooCommerce customer filters to segment customers by verification status.
Monitor and Optimize
The plugin adds an Email Health dashboard widget to your WooCommerce admin showing verification statistics, blocked email trends, and customer database quality metrics. Review the verification log to see which emails are being blocked and adjust your strictness settings if needed. Set up scheduled re-verification to keep your customer database clean as email addresses change over time. Monitor the impact on your order confirmation delivery rates and marketing campaign performance.
